After Everything Works
There is an unusual moment after something comes together. The result arrives. The effort proves worthwhile. What was being built finally holds its own weight. Almost immediately, attention begins searching for the next thing to improve, expand, pursue, or secure. Completion can be surprisingly difficult to inhabit when movement has become the familiar state.
Observe today what happens in the absence of another immediate objective. Notice the impulse to turn an arrival into a new beginning before you’ve fully registered where you are. We are accustomed to interpreting continued movement as progress, yet there are moments when adding another destination prevents us from seeing the landscape we have already entered. Sometimes the interruption in forward motion reveals something that pursuit itself kept out of view.
