Certainty Can Be Premature
An unanswered question creates pressure. Which option is better? What did they mean? Is this working? What happens next? The longer an answer remains unavailable, the more tempting it becomes to choose one simply to close the space. Certainty can bring relief even when nothing new has actually been learned.
Observe today what happens around unresolved questions. Notice how quickly ambiguity becomes uncomfortable enough that any conclusion begins to feel preferable to none. We often treat indecision as evidence that something is wrong, yet there are moments when neither side contains enough information to deserve commitment. The absence of an answer is still information: it tells us that what is visible may not yet support a conclusion.
