The Urge to Make Something Happen
An unanswered email gets another follow-up. A slow week prompts a new strategy. A problem that has not resolved quickly enough attracts another solution. Doing something can feel inherently more intelligent than doing nothing, especially when the outcome matters. Action gives uncertainty somewhere to go.
Observe today what happens when there is no obvious move to make. Notice how quickly an empty space attracts intervention, adjustment, explanation, or effort. We often evaluate inactivity by what it fails to produce, without considering what continued activity may be preventing us from seeing. There are moments when another action adds information. There are others when it simply interrupts the conditions that would have revealed what was happening without it.
