The temptation is to evaluate it immediately. Is it useful? Can it work? Where would it lead? Does it fit with everything already underway? But those questions belong to a later stage than the thing itself. Beginnings often arrive without enough information to justify their existence. What makes them interesting is precisely that they appeared before the explanation did.
