Children rarely require a reason to investigate something interesting. They open drawers, follow insects, dismantle objects, ask questions, and wander toward whatever catches their attention. Somewhere along the way, curiosity becomes more conditional. Interests are measured against usefulness, productivity, expertise, and whether they belong to the version of ourselves we’ve already established.
Observe today what catches your attention before those calculations begin. Notice the subjects you linger over, the unfamiliar places you want to enter, or the ideas that create energy without offering an obvious benefit. Curiosity often appears before identity has had time to decide whether it makes sense.
