An effort can feel pointless right up until it works. Months of repetition become “discipline” after the breakthrough. A strange idea becomes “vision” once other people recognize it. Decisions that once looked questionable are retold as necessary steps after the outcome turns favorable. Success has a peculiar ability to reach backward and reorganize the meaning of everything that preceded it.
But the actions themselves did not change. Only the result did. This creates an interesting distortion in how we understand what works: we often study the path after knowing where it ended. The same choices attached to a different outcome might have produced an entirely different explanation. What looks like proof of a sound process may partly be the story we construct once we know how things turned out.
