Someone takes a risk they would never have considered until everyone around them begins treating it as obvious. Groups do more than gather individuals together. They create conditions that alter what feels possible.
That influence can be difficult to see because it rarely feels like influence from inside the room. Enthusiasm feels personal. Confidence feels earned. An opinion feels like your own. Yet change the company and certainty can change with it. Some parts of us appear only in particular combinations, which raises an interesting question about where the individual ends and the atmosphere begins.
